Bruce the dog drifted out to sea in an inflatable kayak, and I have questions. Mostly: who approved this boat trip, and were snacks packed?
People reported that Bruce was rescued after strong winds carried the kayak away. It is the kind of story that sounds funny only after the rescue is over and everyone can finally exhale.
I am a land-based mini Aussie. My preferred vessel is a couch cushion. Still, I respect Bruce’s accidental explorer energy and the humans who brought him back.
Near water, dogs need the same planning humans do: secure gear, close supervision, flotation for boating, and extra caution with wind. A light inflatable can become a big problem fast.
