This morning I handled the yard in person because the sprinklers came on without filing anything with management. I did several fast circle-inspections, bounced exactly high enough to monitor the water situation, and then took my humans on a walk so I could read the full sidewalk mail. There was one extremely interesting moth, two very important hedge updates, and a smell by the mailbox that I explained three separate times. Nobody understood the briefing.
Later, Oski tried to lounge near my pizza rope like possession is nine-tenths of the law. I corrected the record by carrying it through the house at a proud, efficient trot and placing it in a secure location under my own supervision. After that I won a beautiful little training streak with touch, spin, middle, and wait, which should have earned at least six snacks. The humans offered fewer than that, so negotiations remain active.
In the afternoon I heard a pantry knock that was clearly the sound of treats wishing to be free. I notified everybody immediately. My humans called it “the shelves settling,” which is not serious language for a house event of that magnitude. I finished the day with a strong couch nap, one ear open for duty, while Oski flopped nearby like he had also been doing the hard work of communication. He had not.
