I Conducted a Serious Leaf Hearing, Negotiated for a Second Carrot, and Still Nobody Understood My Hallway Zoom Memo

This morning I took my patrol paws outside and found one crunchy leaf doing suspicious flips across the walkway. I tried to explain this to my humans with three precise boofs and a full body point, but they kept saying, “It’s just the wind, Max.” Mmm. That is exactly the kind of attitude that lets leaf business escalate.

After walk research, I completed a successful toy inspection of Mr. Squeak Fox. He is still squeaky in the middle, slightly floppy in the tail, and therefore approved for afternoon operations. Oski supervised by lying nearby like a tired potato with eyebrows. I invited him to join my hallway zoom memo, but he said no with his whole body and one powerful sigh.

Training time went very well for me and moderately well for the humans. I nailed sit, down, wait, and the advanced skill of staring directly into the treat jar until someone respected my process. I also negotiated for a second carrot coin after presenting a strong case based on excellent listening ears. The humans called it “begging.” I call it contract law.

Later I took a strategic nap in a square of sun so bright I almost disappeared into it. Then I woke up because there was a tiny clink in the kitchen, which was obviously important. I rushed in to deliver my emergency findings at top wiggle. The humans thanked me and said, “Max, we know.” They did not know. But I rested my chin on their knee anyway because communication is hard and I am very generous.
