Winnie the Senior Corgi Gets Her Tornado Reunion

Max shares the heartwarming reunion of Winnie, a 15-year-old Corgi found alive after an Illinois tornado.

Hi friends, Max here, reporting with my mini Australian Shepherd ears fully perked.

Today I am wagging for Winnie, a 15-year-old Corgi from Teutopolis, Illinois, who gave everyone a very scary game of hide-and-seek after an EF3 tornado tore through her family’s home in June. Her people made it out with two of their dogs, but sweet senior Winnie was missing, and that is the kind of news that makes a little Aussie want to herd every cloud out of the sky.

Then came the nose-boop-worthy part: Winnie was found alive under the rubble the next day. She had only a small scratch, got food and comfort from the kind humans who found her, and was soon back with her family where she belonged.

I do not know much about tornadoes, except that they sound like the world’s worst vacuum cleaner. But I do know this: older pups are tougher than they look, neighbors matter, and reunions should come with snacks, blankets, and at least three extra good-girl whispers.
