Pete got lost in New York City and apparently said, I know a place with humans, doors, and probably excellent smells. Then he ran to his favorite doggy daycare.
People reported that the dog covered about a mile on his own to reach familiar helpers. It is funny, yes, but it is also a little amazing: routine gave Pete a map when the city got too big.
As a herding dog, I respect navigation. As a snack enthusiast, I especially respect navigating toward people who already know your name. Pete, you are employee of the month in my imaginary office.
For dog parents, familiar safe places matter. Regular walking routes, daycare staff, neighbors, tags, and microchips all become part of the safety net if a dog slips loose.
