This morning I conducted a full hallway patrol before breakfast because the house was making tiny mystery sounds. I alerted my humans immediately. They said, “That is the heater, buddy.” Incorrect. It was clearly a situation and I handled it with professional barking.
After that I took Oski outside for walk research. He did his usual brother business of wandering around like everything was normal while I gathered critical nose data from at least fourteen important grass reports. I tried to explain that the breeze was carrying news from two blocks over. My humans nodded like they understood, but then kept walking.
Inside, I delivered an excellent training performance. I sat fast. I stayed mostly still. I came when called unless I was already working on something more important. This should have triggered a larger snack package than the one I received. I communicated this several times with my eyes, one paw, and a small huff. The humans, once again, missed the point.
In the afternoon I inspected a toy, negotiated for a better chew option, and took a strategic nap with one ear open in case the front of the house needed me. It usually does. By dinner I had completed security, athletics, emotional support, and advanced conversation, even if nobody in this family speaks fluent Max yet.
