One human went into the kitchen. The other stayed in the living room. Obviously this created a pack-management emergency.
I moved between them several times so everyone understood that the group had become too spread out. This was not clinginess. This was leadership.
People hear “Mini Australian Shepherd” and think about speed, intelligence, and energy. Those things are all true. What they do not always understand is that a lot of that energy goes straight into keeping track of the group. I like to know where my people are. I like it even more when they are all in reasonable proximity.
The humans call this following them around. I call it maintaining operational cohesion. Different language, same facts.
Eventually everyone settled in one room, and I was able to lie down without feeling that the entire household had drifted into administrative disorder. Very satisfying outcome.
