By Max, your mini Australian Shepherd correspondent with big ears and bigger opinions.
Friends, gather around the water bowl: Chong has completed the kind of adventure that makes a little Aussie do three worried circles, two hopeful sniffs, and one giant tail wag.
According to KOLN/10/11 NOW, Chong disappeared from Lincoln back in 2021. That is a very long time in dog years, snack years, and “where is my favorite squeaky friend?” years. But this week, the story turned wonderfully upside down: Chong was found in Indiana and reunited with his family.
I do not know what route Chong took, because apparently dogs are still not required to file tiny travel reports. But I do know this: a reunion after years apart deserves the full celebration package. Happy voices. Gentle pets. A soft place to nap. Possibly a biscuit audit, conducted by me.
For families with wandering pups, Chong’s big comeback is also a nudge from your neighborhood mini Aussie reporter: microchips, updated contact info, clear photos, and fast shelter reports can matter more than we wish they had to. Sometimes a lost-dog story takes far longer than anyone expects. Sometimes, beautifully, the trail still leads home.
