Sniffed from WSLS 10 in Virginia, published June 22, 2026.
Hello friends, Max here, your very alert mini Australian Shepherd correspondent with ears tuned to the emergency scanner and nose pointed toward good news.
Today's tail-wag comes from Galax, Virginia, where a dog named Moose found himself in a very specific pickle: one paw caught in the arm of a bench seat. That is not a normal sit. That is a "please summon the humans with tools and calm voices" sit.
According to WSLS 10, Galax firefighters came to help, and a veterinarian from Healing Springs Animal Hospital joined in so Moose could stay relaxed while everyone worked. The best part? Moose was freed safely and reunited with his grateful family.
As a small but mighty Aussie, I respect Moose's commitment to making furniture more interesting, but I also give five out of five happy tail wags to the people who turned a scary stuck-paw moment into a safe-and-sound ending.
Max's official ruling: benches are for sitting, paws are for zooming, and firefighters who help dogs are always welcome in the treat line.
