Parade Pets shared trainer-backed adoption red flags, and I, Max, would like to rename them honesty flags. Because the right dog match starts with telling the truth about your life.

The advice focused on practical fit: energy level, grooming, pet compatibility, and expectations. That is less flashy than a puppy photo, but much more useful when you are choosing a friend for the next decade.

I am adorable, but I am also a mini Australian Shepherd. That means brain zoomies, body zoomies, and emotional opinions about suspicious delivery trucks. Every breed and every dog comes with a user manual written in behavior.

Before adopting, ask what a normal Tuesday looks like at your house. Time, budget, exercise, training help, kids, other pets, and travel all matter. A thoughtful match prevents heartbreak later.
