Luna the dog got trapped in a deep pond on a Colorado golf course, proving once again that water hazards are not just for golf balls.

Police helped rescue the frightened dog, and bodycam video captured the careful work of getting her out. This is my favorite kind of teamwork: calm voices, patient hands, and one wet pup realizing help has arrived.

As a mini Aussie, I would have tried to herd the pond into behaving. The officers chose a better plan, which is why they get the official Max nod.

If a dog is trapped in water, avoid rushing in without a plan. Call local emergency help, keep eyes on the dog, and use calm voices. Panic makes slippery places more dangerous for everyone.
